CHELSEA’s HOPE  Lafora Children Research Fund. LAFORA DISEASE is the most severe form of epilepsy. Little known and little understood, the disease took the life of Beckman High School Student Kelsey Harris , an avid soccer player. Every year we play a soccer game in memory of Kelsey and to raise money for Lafora Research.

RELAY FOR LIFE We have all been touched by cancer. That is why members of the Tustin POA participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life each year. In addition, TPOA cares allocates money to assist needy Tustin Families in financial hardship while battling cancer.

OFFICERS GIVE HOPE is a non-profit organization dedicated to hosting marrow donor drives in the public safety community in hope of finding a match for those patients awaiting a life saving transplant.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS Every year, we raise money for the Special Olympics in our annual Tip-A-Cop event in addition to participating in the torch relay.

PROJECT 999 is an annual fundraising bike ride from the Fallen Officer Memorial in Sacramento to the Orange County Fallen Officer Memorial in Tustin.

TURKEY DINNER GIVE-AWAY Every year TPOA personnel organize a charity flag football tournament amongst several police agencies. Proceeds are used to purchase Thanksgiving dinners for needy families in Tustin. This year, we are re-writing the script a little bit. We are using the opportunity to organize a youth flag football tournament to not only raise money for the dinners, but spend some time mentoring Tustin’s youth.

SANTA COP Tustin’s favorite time of the year. Not only does the TPD Santa Sleigh hit every street in town, by TPD personnel donate money to buy Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children in the community.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY COMPASSIONATE CANCER CARE CENTER Tustin POA members, along with members of neighboring agencies, raise funds to purchase “Cancer Bags” containing a soft blanket, warm socks, lip balm, hand sanitizer, tissue, healthy snacks and a journal.

RUN WITH A COP/KNOWLEDGE IS POWER Recognizing the kids in specific areas in our city were lacking in recreational opportunities, we started our “RUN WITH A COP” Running Club. We meet after school twice a week and run with the kids. The program ends with a Celebration for the WHOLE COMMUNITY including free dental care, free eye exams, free haircuts, and slew of other great resources and FUN.

We also conduct a weekly afterschool program called KNOWLEDGE IS POWER where we discuss such important topics as bullying, internet safety, gangs, drugs, and much more….

OPERATION WARM WISHES – OUR OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PARTNER!!! Tyron Jackson and his Make it Happen Club are on a mission to heal the world. Tustin POA is his willing sidekick. We have built an amazing relationship with OWW and are officially community partners. Together we are making a difference.
